Because of these contributions, our team and partners are capable of helping children like Mariani.
Mariani was paralyzed in a car accident at age 2. In February 2026, BCECF was able to donate both a new wheelchair and this incredible device that allows Mariani to prepare and strengthen her body for therapies that improve upon her wellbeing today, and someday, may even help her to walk.
We have further connected their family to other support systems that exist around Belize to ensure the family receives the best information and support possible to continue her improvement and care.
